At Mahalo today, as we were brainstorming new apps, we discussed an idea I had for a new app. Our president Jason Rapp asked, “Well, do you see it as a lean forward or a lean back experience?”
I thought for a minute and said, “Neither, it’s more of a tablet experience. What would you call that? We need a name for that.”
Then it hit me. Duh?
“It’s the curl-up experience!” I blurted out.
For those who still didn’t get it. Curl up experience is a new way of thinking ideas and completely changes basic thinking. Let me just take a few lines to explain. Lean forward you are probably experiencing right now. Its typical desktop style when you are concentrated to work on your computer/notebook. On the other hand we have got here lean back experience that means that you just relax in front of TV and all you control is you remote.
As you can see new iPad and tablets are still coming and it wont change for a few year, if ever… But as you are probably thinking tablet way of working is not lean forward because you are actually relaxed sitting somewhere home on your couch and also not lean back because you are hardly interacting with tablet (this also includes your favourite games). So how should we call it? It’s curl up experience!
You just sit back and relax while you do some more serious stuff. So if you already think about tablet as a new way of doing things it completely changes thinking which will have just a huge impact in future. Just imagine you come to work and you work on you tablet instead of computer.
There are hundreds ways how this can change it. Just imagine how it will be different when you will watch your favourite Bear Gryllz on your tablet.
How should a lesson about History be presented on a tablet?
What will “Shark Week” mean when folks stop watching the Discovery Channel on their TVs and start watching it on their tablets?
Extremely easy by words but in reality, a lot of things don`t correspond. Not everything is so rosy..!
I don’t normally comment but I gotta state regards for the post on this one : D.
Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point. You definitely know what youre talking about, why throw away your intelligence on just posting videos to your site when you could be giving us something informative to read?
Any way I’ll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you post again soon
